I did see a bunch of others, though, so perhaps you changed your mind about this one?

There is no point in us arguing over our differences of opinion, we have diametrically opposed world views, and would simply end up shouting past each other.

Also, as I said in my reply to one of your comments, I'm just not that interested in laying out my views any more. They are all there for anyone who cares to read. My opinions, whether right or wrong, will make not a whit of difference in how things unfold. I'm now much more interested in sitting back and tracking the course of event, to see which parts of my analysis were correct and which were mistaken, so I can adjust my views to correspond a bit more closely to reality.

Now if you'd like to discuss the merits or demerits of a spiritual response to calamity, I'd be all ears. It's now early morning on Monday, Sept. 15, and I suspect a lot of small investors in the USA will be investing a bit of effort in prayer later today.

Thanks for reading my writing, no matter what you think of them. Their purpose was to stimulate thought, and they appear to have succeeded.

Best regards,
Paul Chefurka
Ottawa, CanadaPaul Chefurkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16890408782984166334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8698081093372145066.post-17373212337703554092007-12-27T18:20:00.000-08:002007-12-27T18:20:00.000-08:00Humans are not bacteria - No..bacteria have proven...Humans are not bacteria - No..bacteria have proven biological successfull, humans have not yet. The bacteria have survived for at least three billion years. They have been able to adapt to all major shifts in the globe's history and now they constitute around half of all biomass on earth. Compared to this, human beings are amateurs in evolutionary survival.

With an evolutionary history of a few hundred thousands of years of which only a few hundreds have showed real growth, humans are in their enfancy as a proliferating species - measured as biomass we still only make up 250 million tonnes (0,33% of total biomass).

The power of intelligence of humans makes a difference to all former living organsims - that is right - but it is to the good or to the bad (don't need to mention all the stupidities of the so-called civilised world)

So if I was to bet on who will survive in one million years I would put my money on the bacteria - they have the statistics on their side.Nielshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09657360053108314242noreply@blogger.com
